我們需要綠色的罷工與革命/We Need Green Strikes and Lifestyle Revolution

也許就從2009年12月15日開始開始罷工 ?

(我(們)想) 給COP15哥本哈根會議的意見：我們需要綠色的罷工與革命

面對氣候危機、金融危機、物種滅絕、森林砍伐、海洋生態系瓦解......等諸多問題，
我們需要以生態保育為中心的綠色革命，來保護地球。
在歷史中，革命的前奏曲是罷工，
一次次的罷工，累積成為革命，促成社會的總體變革。
現在，我們也應該為了綠色、減碳的理由進行罷工。

碳稅、碳交易、新再生能源技術的研發與商業化......等各種改善氣候的辦法，
在以利潤為導向的貨幣制度、以及資本主義的市場思維之下，
無法真正解決迫切的環境問題，畢竟生態系統的運作、碳與各種物質的循環，不同於以貨幣利潤為導向的市場制度。
而資本主義的全球化、將全世界看作市場的思維與意識，加劇人類對於石化燃料的能源需求與依賴，更是全球暖化的主因之一。

我們需要更徹底的改變。


請COP15的各方代表，考慮以下幾個面向與步驟，創造出和平的生態保育革命：


1.時間與生活的步調：
我們面對的氣候危機是一個關於「時間」與「選擇」的問題。我們需要在未來幾年內，大幅度降低溫室氣體排放量；而參與的人越多，改變的幅度也越大。
這和每個人都有關，而不只是各締約國、各國政府、企業、碳交易市場、新能源技術等個別團體。
將氣候暖化危機簡化成二氧化碳濃度，並賦予市場價格由大型企業進行交易，只是再次將自然納入自由市場、將大氣加以商品化；
卻無法讓大多數人體認到眼前危機的迫切性、或體認到它與自己有所關連。

我們需要碳市場以外的策略，讓每個人都可以協助減緩全球暖化。
例如：放慢生活的步調、減緩現代文明進展的速度，是重要的方向。減緩人類的生活步調，同時也減少人們的能、資源使用。

這是關於時間的問題、關於人如何存在於世間、關於你我如何選擇當下的生活；每個人都有能力與責任參與其中。

2.曆法與文化多樣性。
曆法，是人類生活與文化的基礎，是人與自然互動的依據。
一週七天的曆法制度，主導全球的作息模式，
但工作五天休息兩天的同時，卻留下太少的時間讓人類以外的生命進行繁衍。
我們應依據各地不同的曆法，回復當地的傳統文化與生態系統；並將「慢活」、「慢城」的生活模式，擴展到更多的城市。



3.以工作時間作為碳排放控制工具。
除了碳市場、碳稅等由上而下的市場工具以外，生活模式與工作時間的長短，也是控制溫室氣體排放量的依據。
以「工作兩天、休息五天」的生活模式，進行一年以上的全球安息節或罷工。
將工作時間減至最低，增加休養生息的時間，避免過度的開發，同步減緩全球的消費與生產；並可立即降低二氧化碳排放量。

新技術的發展、商業化與推廣涉及諸多既得利益關係人，需要長時間的溝通與改變，無法及時扭轉人類的困境；
但個人或社區可以自行估算當年度的累積碳排放量，是否超過可容許排放的額度，以減少該年工作天數與消費的方式，來降低溫室氣體排放，並達成減碳目標。

氣候變遷與溫室氣體排放，不該完全由企業界、資本家、與政府來討論和決定。
也需要工人與全世界公民直接的參與和改變行動。

4.空間：以空間的棲地保育搭配時間曆法的保育變革。
原始森林的喪失，是生態失衡與全球暖化的重要原因，伐林背後的驅動力是對於資源的開發，對於貨幣增長的需要，
森林、土地與海洋應被視為國際的公共財，由各國政府共同保護，而非相互競爭使用自然資源。
人類應沿著各國家邊境地區，連結重要生態棲地環境，劃設出全球尺度的國際生態保護網，以彌補各國內部零星保育區的不足。
以「生態社群」的概念取代「現代民族國家」的概念，建立新的國家體制、人類社會與文明。
我們必須給予地球上其他生命，更多的時間與空間，以確保牠們的生存、生態系統的完整、以及人類自身的存活。



5.貨幣：貨幣經濟的設計驅動並控制人類的諸多行為，「利息」的概念必須被挑戰與反轉。
將現行貨幣經濟轉變為綠色貨幣制度：將利息與貨幣兩者脫鉤，讓貨幣隨時間而貶值。
為了賺錢，人類發展各種技術，將世間萬物轉化為各種資源，製成商品進行交易。
我們應該終結由貨幣這種類似病毒般增長的人造物質、不斷殖民地球的現狀。


6.國際公約：起草類似「氣候和平公約」的新國際協定。
同步降低軍事預算，將軍事的人力、經費、科技等資源移轉到永續城市的轉型、氣候災難救助與調適、生態復育、溫室氣體減量......等目標。
「真正的安全不能只靠我軍的規模和力量來衡量，真正的安全來自於：在地球的承載限度內，平靜地生活。」

軍事與國防部會領袖應參與氣候議題的決策。中國、美國、聯合國安理會成員，應率先將軍備經費轉到氣候危機的解決上。COP15應連結氣候與和平，
氣候危機的威脅，更甚於恐怖主義和鄰國。我們需要氣候和平公約，將槍砲坦克轉為公車腳踏車；降低或凍結區域與全球的軍事預算，也許一年、十年或到永遠。

Some opinions for Copenhagen's COP15: We Need Green Strikes and Lifestyle Revolution

[Tammy's version in progress - not final] As we face climate crisis, financial system breakdown, biodiversity decline due to species extinction, deforestation, collapse of marine ecosystems...all these problems and more, we are in [dire] need of an eco-centric revolution to save our planet Earth.
Human history has shown that labor strikes are a prelude to revolution. A series of strikes accumulate momentum and become a revolution, forcing comprehensive social change.
And now, we shall strike for green reasons to demand a reduction in GHG emissions [for Mother Earth].

Under profit-oriented monetary systems and capitalism's free-market ideology, climate change mitigation strategies such as carbon taxes, cap and trade systems, development and commercialization of renewable energies, and so on cannot truly solve environmental problems because that [the interest] which drives money and profit-seeking market systems is fundamentally different from that which drives ecosystems as well as carbon and material cycles.
Globalization under capitalism sees the whole world as a market, which in turn aggravates human demand and reliance on petroleum-based fuel energy, a major contributor to global warming.
As Einstein said, "The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."

We need more radical solutions.

We request(urge) that the COP15 delegates take into consideration the following approaches and steps toward creating a peaceful conservation and ecological revolution.

1. Time and pace of life:
Climate crisis is a matter about Time and Choice. We have to reduce our GHG emission substantially in few years.
The more people get involved, the larger change will be. The crisis relates not only the parties, governments, corp.s, carbon markets, new tech companies, but also everyone on earth.
Reducing the crisis to the concentration of Co2, giving Co2 a price, putting it into the markets, are just enlarging the free market of Nature and commercializing the air. The reduction mislead people to neglect the crisis and ignore our own characters in the problem.

We need strategies other than the carbon markets, which allow everyone to participate, make everyone to be the solution.
To slow down our pace of life, the speed of civilization, are important approach for example. When we live slower, we shall use fewer energy and resources.

It is a crisis about time, i.e. our existence on Earth, how do we live, what is our choice at present now. Everyone could and should be part of it.


2.Diversity of Calendars and culture
Calendars are the foundation of people's life and culture, we interact with Nature by them.
The seven-days-a-week calender dominates human lifestyle everywhere,　but it leaves too few time for other creatures to live.

We shall recover local ecosystems and traditional lifestyles according to the calendars from different cultures; and expand the lifestyle of slow to more cities and aspects of life.


3.Taking work time as an instrument over Co2 emission
Starting a long period of time to Sabbath or strike. Reducing the work time to the minimum extent, increasing the time for rest or leisure, to avoid the excessive development. Even trying a time ratio of work-2-days to rest-5-days for a whole year around the world.
Then Homo Sapiens can reduce the consumption and production around the world simultaneously, reducing Co2&GHG Emission immediately.

Take into consideration the time span which R&D and commercialising need for new techs,
governments should use work days of an year as the tool to control GHG and Co2 emission.

Not only the entrepreneurs, governments, but also labors, citizens are needed to solve the crisis.


4.Setting the international wildlife habitat web along boundaries of
nations, to make up the insufficiency of domestic protection zones.
We need to give more time and space to other life of Earth, for ensuring their survival, the intact of the web of life, and the
future of our own kind.
We shall treat air, forests and marine as international common wealth, but not private or national resources.
We should rebuild civilization on the base of ecological comuunity/bioregions, replacing the "Nation states" by "Netions".
Homo Sapiens shall build international habitat web for wildlife, and reflect the impact of nation system on Earth ecosystem.


5.Transforming the modern monetary into the green money.
Alienating money from the interests, letting the money decay with time; making money, the artificial tool obey the natural principle, decaying.
In order to earning money, people invented all kinds of technology,
turned each and everything on earth into resources, making them as commodities for trade.
We should terminate the colonization of Earth by the currencies, which exploding like virus.


6.Launching an international agreement on lowering military expanding;
and relocating military budget, technology, and human resources for sustainable cities, CC mitigation and adaptation, ecosystem restoration or GHG emission reduction.
Let there be a secure green future on Earth.

There should be more military and defence leader in Climate meetings. The governments should relocate military expense into Climate Crisis mitigation and adaption, especially U.S., China and members of UN Security Council. COP15 or UN may connect Peace and Climate, inviting more martial and defence chiefs to participate. The CC is more threatening than Terroism or neighbors.

We need Climate Peace Convention.
Make (expensive) guns and tanks into (cheap or free) bicyclyes and buses .
Lower or freeze the army budgets regionally or internationally for one year or more.

We need Green Strikes and eco-centric revolution

Human history has shown that labor strikes are a prelude to revolution. And now, we shall strike for green reasons to demand a reduction in GHG emissions [for Mother Earth].

Under profit-oriented monetary systems and capitalism's free-market ideology, climate change mitigation strategies such as carbon taxes, cap and trade systems, development and commercialization of renewable energies, and so on cannot truly solve environmental problems because
that the interest, which drives money and profit-seeking market systems is fundamentally different from that which drives ecosystems as well as carbon and material cycles.

As Einstein said, "The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."

We need more radical solutions such as the following:

1. Time and pace of life: slow down the pace of life
2. Recovering the diversity of calendars and culture
3.Taking work time as an instrument over Co2 emission. Reducing consumption and production at the same time.
4.Transforming the modern monetary into the green money. Treminating the idea and system of "interest"
5.Launching an international agreement on lowering military expanding; relocating military budget, technology, and resources for sustainable cities, CC mitigation and adaptation, ecosystem restoration or GHG emission reduction.
